5 Bowen Crescent transformation well underway
The transformation of the iconic 5 Bowen Crescent building into a modern, state-of-the-art workspace continues at pace. Following extensive demolition and structural modification works, the “re-construction” phase of the project is well underway.
Utilising one of the longest concrete pump booms available in Australia with an unparalleled 61m reach, our capable team led by Project Manager Adam Brown completed the pour of self-supporting concrete to Level 14.
The experienced and unflappable site team overseen by Kevin Portlock and Henry Davis battled some challenging Melbourne weather conditions to commence the installation of two mast climbers in parallel to the concrete works on the rooftop.
The concrete works are a key milestone in the activation of the rooftop as an exciting function space with sweeping views of the CBD Skyline, Albert Park and Port Phillip.
The mast climbers facilitate the commencement of the safe installation of the striking new façade, one of the key features of the transformation of this building.
Fitout works are also well underway on Level 7 which when completed, will deliver a premium workspace offering and provide prospective tenants with a glimpse of the possibilities available to them with this iconic building.
Construction works include major building services upgrades; significant structural modifications; a contemporary new façade; extensive refurbishment of all 14 levels; state-of-the-art lift modernisation, and new lift lobbies; major amenity upgrades to all floors and delivery of a new rooftop space.
The completed building will provide tenants and building users with a modern, well appointed workspace with new ground floor entry, ground floor dining and café, end-of-trip facilities, and a wellness centre in an amazing location just a few minutes’ walk to the new Anzac station with the CBD just a single stop away and Melbourne Airport only 30 minutes away.
