Graduates and cadets tour key subcontractors for exclusive industry insights

Yesterday, ten of our Building Engineering graduates and cadets participated in an exclusive tour, gaining hands-on insight into the work of three of our esteemed subcontractors. The day-long event was part of our Graduate Program, designed to expand their knowledge and understanding of the construction industry from the ground up.

The tour started with Berwick Fabrications, where our team learned about the intricate world of metal fabrication. The session offered a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how these essential components are brought to life, shaping the structures we work on.

Next on the tour was Lux Precast, where our graduates were given an in-depth look at the production of precast concrete panels. A particular highlight was the showcase of panels currently being developed for our Santa Maria College project—an exciting moment for the team to see these crucial elements up close before their integration on site.

The final stop was Barra Steel, where the focus shifted to structural steel. Our cadets and graduates were immersed in the technical aspects of steelwork, from raw material to finished product, understanding how these frameworks form the backbone of our projects.

This event provided a fantastic opportunity for our up-and-coming talent to step beyond the construction site and into the factories that produce the essential materials we rely on.
