Building Engineering hosts Property Industry Foundation Hard Hat Day BBQ, raising funds for homeless youth

On Friday, 30 August 2024, Building Engineering proudly hosted our first-ever Property Industry Foundation (PIF) Hard Hat Day BBQ at the Sages Road Depot project in Glenroy. The event was a remarkable success, drawing in over 90 attendees and standing out as one of the largest PIF BBQs of the year.

The BBQ was more than just a gathering—it was an opportunity for our subcontractors, consultants, project teams, and the wider community to come together to support a cause close to our hearts. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved and through Building Engineering’s dollar-matching program, we have raised close to $11,000 for this incredible cause. This substantial donation will go directly to the Property Industry Foundation, supporting their vital work in providing safe and secure environments for young Australians facing homelessness.

As many as 46,000 young people in Australia are without a stable place to sleep each night. For those who cannot live with their families and for whom foster care isn’t an option, the need for a safe space is critical. The PIF is dedicated to addressing this urgent issue, and we are proud to support their vital work.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors, whose support made this event possible: Bourke Air, Canny Plumbing, Green Time Electrics, Performance Engineering, Komp Cranes, Searl X Waldron Architecture, Adventure Lockers, Oculus, DCM, and Horizon Facility Services. Your contributions were instrumental in helping us reach this incredible fundraising milestone, and we are truly grateful for your partnership.

This event highlights the power of collaboration and the impact we can make when we work together. Building Engineering is deeply grateful to all our partners and the community for their generosity and support. The success of our first Hard Hat Day BBQ has set a strong precedent, and we are excited to continue our partnership with the Property Industry Foundation in the future.

As we reflect on this incredible day, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. The close to $11,000 raised at our Sages Road Depot project will go a long way in helping to provide a better future for homeless youth across Australia, and we look forward to hosting more events that unite our industry around such meaningful causes.
