Exciting developments underway at Westgarth Primary School
Westgarth Primary School is undergoing an exciting transformation, having received $12.97 million in the 2022-23 State Budget.
The upgrade project is aimed at enhancing the educational and recreational facilities for students, staff, and the wider community. With a comprehensive plan in place, the school is poised to welcome exciting new additions that will elevate its infrastructure and provide enriched learning environments.
Competition-Grade Gymnasium and Classroom Building
One of the highlights of the project is the construction of a state-of-the-art competition-grade gymnasium, designed to meet the evolving needs of the school’s sports programs. Additionally, a new classroom building will be built, equipped with modern amenities to accommodate the growing student community.
Landscaping and Outdoor Spaces
The project includes extensive landscaping efforts to create vibrant outdoor spaces conducive to learning and recreation. An outdoor undercover area will provide students with a versatile environment for various activities, encouraging outdoor engagement and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Upgraded Hall and Central Landscaped Area
Recognising the importance of communal spaces, the existing hall will undergo significant upgrades to enhance its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The outdated facilities will be demolished to make way for a central landscaped area. This revitalised space, complete with a new hardcourt, will serve as a focal point for gatherings, events, and outdoor play, enriching the school experience for all.
Progress Update
Construction efforts are well underway, with a focus on inground works and site cut preparations. The team at Building Engineering is diligently executing each phase of the project with precision and expertise, ensuring that the vision for Westgarth Primary School becomes a reality.
Community Impact
Beyond the physical transformation of the school grounds, the project will have a positive impact on the wider community. By enhancing education and recreational facilities, the upgrade project aims to create a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the school gates, enriching the lives of students, families, and the wider community.
