Sages Road Depot construction update
The Sages Road Depot project is a new two-storey operational depot currently being delivered by Building Engineering for the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. The large-scale mass timber project is advancing steadily, with key milestones achieved and several works underway.
Scheduled for completion in 2024, the Sages Road Depot is poised to become a striking facility, setting new standards in sustainable architecture and operational efficiency. Here’s a rundown of the recent progress and upcoming works:
Services Installation:
The installation of key services including diesel pumps and fire tanks, is in progress. The assembly and connection of water meters and hydrant boosters are also underway. The commencement of the solar panel installation, and electrical services including equipment, racks, and servers is also in progress.
Structural Works:
In the realm of structural works, the roof framing erection is ongoing. Simultaneously, façade framing erection is progressing, shaping the distinctive exterior of the depot.
Fit Out:
The fit-out phase is well underway, with significant installations planned. Perimeter metal cladding and Troldtekt ceiling installations are imminent, enhancing aesthetics and functionality. Full-height wire mesh panels are set to be installed, further defining the spatial layout of the facility. The brick/block work will be completed in the next four weeks.
