Sod turning ceremony marks the start of Santa Maria College’s Stage 2 Learning Village
Building Engineering is thrilled to announce the official start of construction for the Santa Maria College Stage 2 Learning Village, a cutting-edge facility designed to transform the educational experience for Year 9 and 10 students. A sod-turning ceremony held on-site last week marked the commencement of this exciting project, bringing together key members from the Santa Maria College community, Williams Ross Architects, and our dedicated Building Engineering project team.
The event celebrated our strong partnership with Santa Maria College and Williams Ross Architects, whose collaborative vision will result in a vibrant new hub for student learning. The school community is eager to see the project unfold, as it promises to be a landmark development that will support diverse learning experiences and foster a community atmosphere.
The Santa Maria College Stage 2 Learning Village is a new, state-of-the-art facility that will be the hub for Santa Maria’s Year 9 and 10 students. Designed to provide a dynamic educational experience, the new village will feature versatile learning areas that support various activities and foster a strong sense of community. This project will be fully integrated into a live and operational school environment, and our priority will be to minimise disruption to ongoing operations.
With the old building already demolished, the groundwork is well underway, setting the stage for a smooth transition into the construction phase. The Learning Village will boast open-plan learning spaces, breakout areas, and adaptable classrooms that align with modern educational needs, all while maintaining the charm and ethos of Santa Maria College.
Building Engineering is proud to be part of this transformative journey. We are working closely with the College and our partners to deliver a facility that enhances education and enriches the lives of students and staff. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project continues to take shape!
