Witness the transformation: six months of progress at St Columba’s Foxford Innovation Centre
Building Engineering is thrilled to share an exciting milestone in our partnership with St Columba’s College, the exciting construction progress at our Foxford Innovation Centre project.
Over the past six months, our dedicated team has been making great strides to bring this state-of-the-art educational hub to life. To celebrate, we present a captivating timelapse video showcasing the construction journey from January to present.
Key construction milestones:
January: The groundwork was laid with the supply and installation of the ground and first-floor precast panels, setting the foundation for the structure.
March: We achieved a significant milestone with the first-floor slab poured and continued with the first-floor precast panel installation.
April: The skeleton of the building took shape with the erection of steel structures on Level 1, followed by the ground floor steel erection in April and May.
May: The building began to take its final form with the installation of the roof, creating a striking silhouette.
June: The façade was brought to life with a fresh coat of paint, enhancing the building’s aesthetic and integrating it seamlessly with the existing campus architecture.
July: As part of the site preparation, we demolished the old basketball court and pavements, making way for new developments.
August: coming up next will be the transformation of the sports court area with both soft and hard landscaping to the sports court.
About the project:
Situated at the corner of Buckley and Lorraine Streets, the Foxford Innovation Centre blends gracefully with the heritage design of the St. Columba’s campus. The centre features elegant arches and curves that harmonise with the historic surroundings.
The Foxford Innovation Centre is designed as a hub of innovation and collaboration, equipped with specialist spaces for agile and dynamic learning. These spaces include IT connectivity and flexible furniture to facilitate cross-disciplinary interaction among students and staff.
This project represents a significant investment in the future of education at St. Columba’s College, aligning with the best practices in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.
