Building Engineering was awarded the Discovery Bay Werribee Child Care Centre in November 2021. The project was awarded under a Design and Construct procurement method. Following careful planning, design, and collaboration with all stakeholders, the construction phase commenced in March 2022.
The project’s main objective was to construct a state-of-the-art child care center to cater to the needs of the community.
The project scope encompassed the delivery of:
- Four spacious childcare rooms designed to accommodate children of varying age groups
- A fully equipped commercial kitchen to ensure high-quality meal preparation for the children
- Well-appointed staff amenities and offices to facilitate efficient administrative operations
- Thoughtfully designed landscaping and external play spaces, providing children with engaging outdoor environments
Features of the project include:
- Single story structure
- The framework of the building is a combination of timber and steel
- The exterior features a diverse mix of cladding types, including Fiber Cement (FC) sheets and feature brickwork, adding to the building’s visual appeal
The child care center was successfully delivered on time and ready for operation in October 2022. This achievement was a testament to the meticulous planning, dedicated teamwork, and diligent execution that went into every phase of the project.
