Building Engineering was engaged to deliver the Epping Private Hospital Day Surgery and Inpatient Unit for repeat clients Healthe Care Australia. In successfully delivering the ECI stage, and following this an early works package, Building Engineering was also engaged to deliver the main works package under a Design and Construct (D&C) contract method.
Stage one included the early works, demolishing the existing tenancies on level one.
Stage two comprised the bulk of the D&C package spread over the ground floor and level one.
Ground floor works included installing medical gas cages, compressors, and pumps, installation of a new generator, and construction of a new ambulance canopy for the main entry.
Level one fit out works comprised of three operating theatres, one endoscopy theatre, pre-op wait, hold and interview, CSSD facility, sterile store, 16 bay stage one and two recovery area, 24 bedrooms with ensuites including one isolation bedroom, and three sleep lab bedrooms.
Non-clinical elements include the main reception and waiting area, consulting rooms, staff lounge, and change facilities, pharmacy store, and commercial kitchen.
All works were delivered in a live and operational hospital environment.
