Building Engineering was engaged to deliver a brand new facility for Northcote State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers.
The new facility, located at Heidelberg West, replaces the current Northcote home base, which serves a vast area of the northern suburbs.
The new site, previously occupied by the Heidelberg West Police Station, comprises updated administration and training areas, and houses a range of specialised equipment.
The Northcote unit currently has 36 volunteers, who respond to around 700 incidents each year.
The new facility gives volunteers greater capacity to serve the rapidly growing areas of Darebin, Yarra and Banyule.
