Building Engineering was appointed to construct this new facility for Swinburne’s Film and TV department which was relocating to the Hawthorn Campus.
The build involved the refurbishment of an existing old factory which was stripped out and had two new floors inserted into the shell by raising the roof.
The facility includes recording studios, three Green Screen studios for filming and photography, computer laboratories, office space, and administration areas.
The building’s top level was clad with Swinburne’s red translucent polycarbonate sheeting to help with branding at the Hawthorn campus.
This project was completed in 2014.
